Subject: Reaffirming Thailand’s Commitment to Human Rights and Responsible Business Conduct

Dear Valued Partners,

Recent social media reports have raised allegations of harassment and violence against migrant workers in Thailand. As the President of the Employers’ Confederation of Thailand (ECOT), I wish to address these concerns directly to our trusted partners in the global supply chain.

Thailand’s employers uphold the highest respect for human rights and labour standards, in line with our obligations as a member of the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the United Nations. We strongly believe that any allegation must be substantiated with clear and verifiable evidence to ensure fairness and justice for all parties involved.

Beyond respecting human rights, ECOT has been an active advocate of Responsible Business Conduct (RBC), working closely with our members across industries to ensure that dignity, safety, and non-discrimination are embedded in every workplace. Our ongoing initiatives include:

Promoting ILO standards and the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights among our members

Supporting due diligence measures and monitoring compliance across supply chains

Collaborating with social partners and tripartite bodies to protect migrant workers and ensure equal treatment under Thai law

We are committed to evidence-based dialogue, and we invite all stakeholders — including buyers and global brands — to join us in promoting transparency and protecting the rights of all workers.

Thailand’s business community remains united in upholding safe, fair, and humane working conditions. Proven violations will be addressed strictly under Thai law, without exception or discrimination.

Thank you for your continued trust and collaboration with Thailand’s workforce and supply chain. ECOT stands ready to work with you to strengthen RBC and uphold our shared values of dignity, respect, and justice.

Respectfully,

Ekasit Kunanantakul
President
Employers’ Confederation of Thailand (ECOT)
