ECOT and ILO Advance the Promotion of Mental Health at Work for Employers
On 5 August 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., at Pullman Bangkok King Power, Bangkok, the Employers’ Confederation of Thailand (ECOT) participated in the “Introduction Workshop on Mental Health at Work for Employers,” organized by the International Labour Organization (ILO).
On this occasion, Dr. Sopon Pornchokchai, Vice President of the Employers’ Confederation of Thailand, delivered welcoming and opening remarks. He was joined by ECOT representatives:
• Mr. Ukrish Kanjanaket, Senior Advisor, ECOT
• Mr. Bowornsak Klaharn, Advisor, ECOT
The workshop aimed to strengthen participants’ basic knowledge of mental health at work, while identifying and assessing the needs of ECOT member enterprises. The findings will be used to develop appropriate approaches and design effective and sustainable training programmes on the prevention of mental health risks and the promotion of mental well-being in the workplace.
The programme featured presentations on the ILO’s approaches and tools for mental health at work, as well as an exchange of information on the protection and promotion of mental health in Thailand. Group activities also provided representatives from enterprises, human resources personnel, occupational safety officers, and other relevant stakeholders with opportunities to exchange experiences, identify workplace needs, and propose approaches appropriate to their organizational contexts.
ECOT places great importance on creating workplaces that are safe, healthy, and supportive of workers’ well-being. Promoting mental health at work is an important part of enhancing productivity, reducing work-related risks, and strengthening organizations in the long term.
ECOT remains committed to advancing its cooperation with the ILO and relevant partners to further develop knowledge and practical approaches that benefit employers and enterprises throughout Thailand.
