📣 ECOT Joins Forces with ICDL Thailand
to Establish the “ECOT Digital Academy” and Launch the International Digital Employer Recognition (IDER)

The Employers’ Confederation of Thailand (ECOT), in collaboration with ICDL Thailand and ICDL Foundation, has officially launched the ECOT Digital Academy alongside the International Digital Employer Recognition (IDER). The initiative aims to raise awareness and readiness among Thailand’s private sector to embrace the digital economy by developing workforce digital skills in a structured manner aligned with international standards.

This collaboration is led by Mr. Eksit Kunanantakul, President of ECOT, and Dr. Hugh O’Connell, Executive Director of ICDL Thailand. The signing ceremony was honored by the presence of Mr. Damien O’Sullivan, CEO of ICDL Foundation, and Ms. Tina Wu, CEO of ICDL Asia, who traveled to Thailand to witness this important international partnership.

Key attendees also included Mr. Bowornsak Klaharn and Mr. Siripong Intawadee, Advisors to ECOT; Ms. Kridkanya Karnjiratanan, Executive Director of ICDL Thailand; and Ms. Melda Srinuan, Deputy Managing Director of Adeptus Digital Corporation Co., Ltd., operator of the ICDL International Testing Center by Adeptus.

The launch of this initiative aims to encourage employers in Thailand to prioritize the development of digital skills for their workforce—both at the policy and practical levels. The goal is to shift from merely “using technology” to “building digital capabilities within organizations” sustainably, while aligning workforce skills with rising wage standards.

The International Digital Employer Recognition (IDER) will be awarded to organizations that meet specific criteria for digital skills development, including:

Providing essential digital skills training for employees

Assessing skills based on the ICDL international standard

Integrating technology into work processes

Promoting continuous learning within the organization
