📢 ECOT Sends Thai Representatives to Participate in the Responsible Business Conduct (RBC) Training Program in Japan
Enhancing Thai Businesses toward Sustainable Global Standards
The Employers’ Confederation of Thailand (ECOT) has sent Thai representatives to participate in a scholarship-based training program in Japan, organized in cooperation with The Association for Overseas Technical Cooperation and Sustainable Partnerships (AOTS).
The training program, titled
“Promoting Responsible Business Conduct (RBC)”,
was held from 4–11 December 2025 in Tokyo, Japan.
A total of 27 Thai participants joined the program, comprising 10 representatives from ECOT member companies, 1 ECOT officer, 11 representatives from ECONTHAI, 2 from FTI, 2 from TAPMA, and 1 from EEI.
The program aimed to enhance participants’ knowledge and understanding of Responsible Business Conduct (RBC) principles and practices in line with international standards, while encouraging Thai businesses to practically apply these principles in their operations. This initiative supports the advancement of good governance, sustainability, and competitiveness of Thai enterprises in the global arena.
During the training, participants had the honor of learning from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan (METI), the key authority driving RBC standards in Japan, as well as representatives from the International Labour Organization (ILO). The sessions covered key topics including industrial relations, safe and healthy working conditions, and human rights, based on internationally recognized principles.
In addition, participants took part in study visits and in-depth knowledge exchanges with leading Japanese organizations such as
Keidanren (Japan Business Federation) and
JEITA (Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association),
as well as global corporations including Toyota Motor Corporation, Mitsubishi Motors, and NEC. These organizations demonstrated concrete examples of integrating RBC principles into core business operations and supply chains.
💬 Feedback from Participants
Participants shared that the program broadened their perspectives on responsible business practices through real-world insights from Japanese government agencies, business federations, and corporations.
