ECOT Joins National Consultation
Reflecting Thai Employers’ Perspectives on the ILO Draft Convention on Decent Work in the Platform Economy
The Employers’ Confederation of Thailand (ECOT) assigned its representatives to participate in the national consultation on the International Labour Organization (ILO) Draft Convention on Decent Work in the Platform Economy, held on Wednesday, 28 January 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the We-Train Donmuang Training Center, Don Mueang District, Bangkok.
The consultation aimed to gather views and recommendations from key stakeholders in Thailand ahead of the consideration and possible adoption of the draft convention at the International Labour Conference (ILC) in June 2026.
On this occasion, ECOT designated the following representatives to attend the meeting:
The ECOT representatives contributed Thai employers’ perspectives on key issues, including the employment status of platform workers, social protection and labor welfare, as well as labor management through digital systems and algorithms—issues that are expected to have a direct impact on future labor market structures and business operations.
The consultation served as an important platform for policy dialogue and exchange of views, aiming to ensure that international labor standards are balanced, aligned with Thailand’s economic and social context, and considerate of employers’ competitiveness alongside fair labor protection.
ECOT reaffirms its commitment to working collaboratively with national and international partners to promote Decent Work, support sustainable labor systems, and contribute to the development of labor policies that balance economic growth with social fairness.
