Modern Business Must Grow Responsibly — ECOT Strengthens HRDD Knowledge to Promote Human Rights Respect among Thai Employers

The Employers’ Confederation of Thailand (ECOT) sent its representatives to participate in the training programme titled “Human Rights Due Diligence: HRDD” Class 10/2026, organized by the Department of Rights and Liberties Protection in collaboration with the Boon Dek Foundation.

The training was held during 18–19 June 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at Asawin Grand Convention Hotel, Bangkok.

ECOT representatives participating in this training included:
Mr. Ukrish Kanchanaketu, Senior Advisor, ECOT
Mr. Bovornsak Klaharn, Advisor, ECOT

Dr. Puchiss Sricharone, Advisor, ECOT

and Mr. Kitiphat Supawongsatit, Advisor, ECOT

This HRDD training served as an important platform to enhance knowledge and understanding of Business and Human Rights, a topic that has become increasingly significant for businesses both in Thailand and internationally. In today’s business environment, organizations are expected not only to pursue economic growth, but also to consider their impacts on workers, communities, business partners, consumers, and all stakeholders across the value chain.

Throughout the training, participants engaged in both lectures and practical workshops covering key topics, including:

🔹 Concepts, standards, and policy frameworks on Business and Human Rights
🔹 Human Rights Due Diligence (HRDD) processes
🔹 Development and announcement of human rights policies
🔹 Human rights risk and impact assessment
🔹 Grievance mechanisms, remediation, monitoring, review, reporting, and continuous improvement

ECOT places great importance on enhancing the capacity of employers’ organization representatives to support Thai businesses in operating responsibly, respecting human rights, and aligning with sustainable development principles.

Because a “good organization” is not measured solely by business performance, but also by its responsibility toward people, society, and the entire value chain.
