ECOT Participates in Workshop Promoting Responsible Business Conduct and Respect for Human Rights in Line with OECD Guidelines

On Thursday, 17 September 2026, the Employers’ Confederation of Thailand (ECOT), represented by Mr. Ukrit Kanjanaket, participated in the workshop “Promoting Responsible Business Conduct and Respect for Human Rights in Line with OECD Guidelines” at the Royal Princess Larn Luang Hotel, Bangkok.

The workshop was organised by the Rights and Liberties Protection Department, in collaboration with the OECD Centre for Responsible Business Conduct. Its objective was to strengthen knowledge and understanding among government agencies and the business sector regarding OECD standards on responsible business conduct, as well as to prepare Thailand for the implementation of international standards relating to responsible business practices and respect for human rights.

The programme featured presentations and exchanges of experience on key topics, including cooperation among the government, state enterprises, and businesses in advancing responsible business conduct towards international standards; the operation of the National Contact Point (NCP) for Responsible Business Conduct in the United Kingdom; and approaches to establishing Thailand’s NCP in accordance with OECD guidelines.

In the afternoon, participants also took part in a group discussion on preparing the private sector to comply with OECD standards on responsible business conduct, providing an opportunity for representatives from relevant organisations to exchange views and discuss possible approaches for future implementation.

ECOT’s participation provided another opportunity to follow developments and exchange knowledge on international standards related to Responsible Business Conduct and Business and Human Rights. These issues are increasingly important for Thai employers and businesses as the global economy and international trade place greater emphasis on corporate responsibility and respect for human rights.
