The meeting took place on February 21, 2025,at Sri Charoen Building, Samut Prakan. Mr. Ekasit Kunanantakul, President of the Employers' Confederation of Thailand (ECOT) and Mrs.Siriwan Romchatthong, Secretary General Join in extended his welcome to Ms. Kaori Nakamura-Osaka, Deputy Director-General and Regional Director of the International Labour Organization (ILO) Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific in Bangkok. The meeting was attended by ILO representatives by Ms.Xiaoyan QIAN, Director , ILO Decent Work Technical Support Team for East and South-East Asia and the Pacific and Country Office for Thailand, Cambodia and Lao People’s Democratic Republic. Mr. Gary Rynhart, Senior Employers' Specialist at International Labour Organization (ILO) and Ms. Jittima Srisuknam,Senior Programme Officer for Thailand and Lao PDR - ILO Country Office for Thailand, Cambodia and Lao People’s Democratic Republic (CO-Bangkok) and ECOT representatives by Mr. Ukrish Kanchanaketu, Senior Advisor, Employers' Confederation of Thailand. Mr. Kornchai Kaewmahawongse, Adviser. Mr.Siripong Intavadee, Adviser.
During the meeting, they discussed various collaborative projects aimed at elevating Thailand's labor policies and practices to meet international standards. The discussions focused particularly on projects related to migrant workers, children's and women's rights, occupational safety and health, promotion of equal roles, and raising awareness and understanding of labor relations. Furthermore, they emphasized the importance of workers' quality of life for the sustainable development of employers' businesses and the national economy. Both parties emphasized their commitment to supporting these joint initiatives.
