ECOT Participates in the United Nations Responsible Business and Human Rights Forum for Asia and the Pacific, Strengthening the Role of Business in Advancing Sustainable Respect for Human Rights
The Employers’ Confederation of Thailand (ECOT) participated in the 8th United Nations Responsible Business and Human Rights Forum, Asia-Pacific, held under the theme “Building Resilience, Advancing Rights” at the United Nations Conference Centre in Bangkok during 14–17 September 2026. The Forum brought together businesses, employers’ organisations, civil society organisations, international organisations, and stakeholders from across Asia and the Pacific to exchange views and approaches on promoting responsible business conduct alongside respect for human rights.
As part of the Forum, the International Organisation of Employers (IOE) organised key activities for the business community in the Asia-Pacific region, including:

The IOE Asia-Pacific Business Caucus on the topic:
“Implementing Human Rights Due Diligence in Times of Disruption and Regulatory Complexity”
The session provided a platform to exchange perspectives on the implementation of Human Rights Due Diligence (HRDD) amid ongoing disruption, uncertainty, and increasing regulatory complexity faced by businesses.

The 1st Asia-Pacific Business and CSO Stakeholder Engagement Dialogue: Building Trust and Collective Action, organised by IOE to promote trust, mutual understanding, and cooperation among businesses, employers’ organisations, and civil society organisations.
The dialogue also provided an opportunity to exchange practical experiences on identifying and assessing human rights risks, preventing and mitigating adverse impacts, grievance mechanisms, and appropriate approaches to remediation.
On this occasion, ECOT coordinated and invited representatives from multinational companies to share perspectives from the business sector, including:

Mr. Ukrit Kanjanaket, representing the Employers’ Confederation of Thailand (ECOT), also participated in the meetings and related activities.
ECOT’s participation in this regional forum reflects its role in connecting Thai employers with international networks and supporting the exchange of knowledge and good practices on Responsible Business Conduct and Business and Human Rights.
Through such engagement, ECOT continues to promote responsible business practices, respect for human rights, and sustainable cooperation among businesses, employers’ organisations, civil society, international organisations, and other relevant stakeholders.
